Queensborough Middle School

Queensborough Middle School is home to more than 320 students from Grades 5 through 8. Centrally located in the community close to the Queensborough Community Centre and Queen Elizabeth Elementary school, staff work collaboratively with the community to prepare students to be contributing members of the global community through the development of life-long skills.

Dear Parents and Guardians, please see important reminders regarding upcoming early dismissal days, our Pro D day, and Family Day:

  1. EARLY DISMISSALS THIS WEEK: A reminder that our Student/Parent/Teacher conferences are this week. Students will be dismissed at 1 p.m. AFTER LUNCH on  February 12 and Thurs., February 13.
  2. NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 14 & MONDAY, FEBRUARY 17., Feb. 14 is a Professional Development day for staff of QMS. Student do not attend school. Mon., Feb. 17 is the Family Day statutory holiday. The school will be closed. Tues., Feb. 18 is a regular school day.
  3. TRAFFIC CHANGE: Please see the attached information regarding the New Carter Street Construction at Ryall Park and Queensborough Community Centre.  Of note, starting Monday, February 10 through to Monday, March 2 access to the Queensborough Community Centre and Ryall Park  will be via Salter Street. There will be no access via Ewen Avenue. Parking will also be impacted. We anticipate higher volumes of traffic in front of the school during construction. Please encourage your child(ren) to walk to and from school, and review road safety procedures with them. If you must drive, please leave the roadway adjacent to the school clear for pedestrians (including our staff and students!) and patrons of the Community Centre. Members of the New Westminster Police Traffic Unit will be monitoring traffic around the school. Thank you for doing your part to keep our students, staff and community members safe.
  4. Please look at the QMS Feb/Mar newsletter that was delivered by email and is posted to the QMS website.
