Welcome back to QMS!

It is hard to believe that summer is winding down and students will be back at school on Tuesday, September 5! The staff at QMS are already preparing to welcome our new and returning students and staff to the 2017-2018 school year. Mr. John Lekakis joins us as Vice Principal replacing Ms. Alysha Karsan who has moved to West Vancouver School District. John comes to us from Burnaby North Secondary School. In addition to his Vice Principal duties, John will be teaching our grade 7/8 class.

The school office will be open the week of August 28 for new registrations from the hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. School supply lists have been posted to our webpage.

School starts for students on Tuesday, September 5. Students are to arrive at 8:36 a.m. Returning students will proceed to last year’s classes and Gr. 5 students from Queen Elizabeth Elementary will proceed to the gym. New students will be directed to the Multi-Purpose Room. Dismissal on Tuesday, September 5 will be at 9:30 a.m.

Wednesday, September 6 is a regular school day. Students will need to bring a nutritious snacks and lunches for the week. Our Breakfast and Lunch programs will not begin until Monday, September 11. More information on our Lunch Program will be sent home with students during the first week of school. Space in this program is limited.

Student packages will be sent home on Wednesday, September 7. This package contains forms to be completed by parents and guardians which need to be returned to the school as soon as possible. Please check with your child(ren) on Wednesday for this very important package.

Our first school newsletter will be emailed home within the next few weeks. Please ensure the office has your current email address as this is our primary means of communicating with home.
Other school information will also be posted on this webpage. Be sure to check back often for updates.

We look forward to welcoming students and parents to QMS for the start of a great school year! Enjoy the rest of Summer Break!
